Now he isn't really one to celebrate birthdays. He couldn't care less, but I think a little part inside of him cares just a little bit.
I say a 30th birthday calls for a super special surprise. For the last 2 weeks he thought he was getting headphones for his gift. They were something he really wanted, but I knew a little something he wanted even more....a Weber Smoker.
He has been talking about getting this smoker for the last 3 years. He thought it was too frivolous to buy for himself so it was a perfect 30th birthday present.
Of course I had to trick him into thinking his headphones didn't come on time due to the holidays. This made him sad and a perfect opportunity to surprise him even more.
I ordered the smoker on Amazon and stashed it at away at my work...yes, another good reason to be a working mom--a place outside of the home to stash gifts.
Then after dinner, I made up some lame excuse for him to go out to my car and then popped the trunk. Bam! Inside was the smoker with a big bow. Don't you just love surprises? He sure did.
After such a long day I was exhausted. It's hard work being a working mom and thoughtful wife! Ha!
Awww, that's so sweet. I love surprises too. Giving them more than receiving them. :)
ReplyDeleteOh what a great gift and a great surprise! I love being able to do little things for the hubby but when you can hit him with the big ones like this, it's even better!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a cute idea!
