Baby Food for 10 Month Old

Okay, I must be a lazy mom.  I really got used to feeding my baby jar food.  It's simple.  You open it up, spoon it out, baby is full.  Well now that Jackson is 10 months old (today in fact!), he doesn't want puree baby food any longer.  Totally understandable.  I wouldn't either.

The problem is, there are not many chunky baby food options out there.  I guess I'm supposed to make dinner every night, cut it up into tiny pieces, and feed him it.  Gosh.  That just isn't going to happen given our work schedules.  I do my best, but I just can't do it every night with all the other things we have going on.

Well luckily at Target last weekend I was able to find a couple of options.  Earth's Best not only makes organic food, but they had a few varieties of chunky baby food.  Chicken with stars, pasta, and chunky fruit.

Earth's Best 3rd Foods Variety Pack, 6-Ounce Jars (Pack of 8)

Checking out Amazon, they also have a variety of baby's first soups.  I may have to invest in this package...Jackson loves soup.  Last night he ate up a bunch of potato soup we picked up from the market.

I may also just prepare some of my own chunky baby food at home during the weekends for the upcoming week.  I'm thinking organic pasta and sauce.  Whole Foods here I come...

  1. Hey< I'm with ya on the jar stuff. Nothing wrong with it either as long as you read the ingredients.
Julianna is 1 week shy of 10 months - and I bought a bunch of stage 3 beechnut foods thinking she was ready (It's pretty chunky)... Well she's not. She freaked out when we gave her turkey & vegetables. Didn't want anythng to do with it. I tried corn with rice. She normally loves anything with corn. NOt this. I think she hated the texture of the chunks in her food. So.... back to the stage2 purees. I found some stage 3's that are not chunky.... but for now, its purees for Jules! haha

  2. Oh the days when I could just open the jar and feed her! After we started giving her table food and she could feed herself (finger foods) there was no letting me do any of it! That is my little Miss Independent. Now that the newness of table food has worn off she lets me help, but she still likes to do the most of it.

  3. It's so good to know other moms struggle with this! Jack is still in that stage of wanting me to feed him. Oh goodness. I can't wait until he feeds himself!

  4. Love your blog! Great info! I think the Earth's Best website has some other varieties too. I remember it getting tricky once mine started with real food. Seems like you really have to get creative sometimes. We have tried really hard with our youngest to just feed him small pieces of whatever we are eating that night. We are hoping it will keep from becoming a picky eater like his big brother...wishful thinking! :)

Thanks for the follow! I'm following you now too!
